Refurbished vs. second-hand:what's the difference?

If you want to buy a new iPhone, and you don't want to pay full price for it, you probably take a look at the cheaper versions. Because iPhones are expensive, very expensive. Now is the best time of year to buy a used iPhone. That's because the new iPhones have just been unveiled and will be in stores soon, causing many people to sell their older model so that they can earn some money to buy a new iPhone model. In addition to second-hand products, you have come across the term refurbished more and more in recent years. But what does this mean? And what is the difference between refurbished and second-hand? We explain it to you here.

Refurbished vs. second-hand
Refurbished means translated from English. A refurbished iPhone has been used, but it has also been thoroughly inspected (both the inside and the outside) for any problems and repaired if necessary to ensure that it meets Apple's high quality standards. This means that only original Apple parts are used and that each device is equipped with the latest software for optimal functioning. With all the new parts, it works exactly like a new iPhone. Each device also gets a new battery so that the phone can stay on for a long time. And that for a much cheaper price!

A used iPhone has also been used before, but these are usually sold as they were when they were last used. It has not been overhauled and often has not undergone quality control so there is no guarantee that it works properly. A second-hand iPhone is therefore often cheaper than a refurbished model. There are also shops that thoroughly check and test second-hand models, so that they are still in excellent condition, and also offer a warranty. Telephone Discounter is such a store that applies the same strict quality requirements as Apple, so that you can be sure that you will receive a beautiful and well-functioning second-hand copy.

When is a refurbished model a good choice?
For example, if you are not 100% enthusiastic about the iPhone 7 or 8, but you need an upgrade because you are using an older device, for example the iPhone 4 or 5, then a refurbished iPhone 6 is a good idea because it will be a huge upgrade from your older iPhone.
