17% of the Dutch have difficulty distancing themselves from technology

17% of the Dutch population finds it difficult not to use technology such as a mobile device, computer, TV, etc. 30% has no problem with that. In China (43%), Brazil (42%) and Argentina (40%), most people struggle to keep their hands off their technology. People in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium find it easiest to leave their digital equipment behind. This is shown by a GfK online survey spanning 17 countries in which the following statement was presented:'I find it difficult to take a break from technology (my mobile device, computer, the TV, etc.), even when I know it is is better for me'.

There is hardly any difference between men and women. If we look at the age, young people have the most difficulty not using their technical devices for a while. Of the 15-19 year olds, 26% find this difficult. People over 40 have less trouble letting go of their devices. In the 50-59 age group, even more than 40% indicate that it is not difficult (at all) to find it.
