How to Record Phone Calls with Truecaller

Along with new reforms and developments, Truecaller last month rolled out version 12 of its app which made the call recording feature, which was previously only available to premium users, free for everyone. How to use Truecaller to record your calls

The process in place here is quite simple. First, you need to make sure that the Truecaller app is downloaded on your phone and an account is created there with all your credentials. After that, follow the steps below:

1. Launch the Truecaller app on your phone
2. Click on the icon at the top left to open the options menu and from the list of options, select Call Recordings
3. This will open the Call Recordings sub-settings page. Here you will see an option to enable call recordings through the Truecaller app. Enable this option
4. Truecaller will then ask you to enable permissions to record calls. If you are sure of the requested permissions, select Continue
5. You will be asked to enable the accessibility feature. Go to the required settings page and you will see an option under the name Installed Devices. Click on it.

Go back a few steps until you reach a Truecaller page and tap Understand. Do that and you're done! Every time you make a phone call now, you'll see an option to save it. Truecaller also gives you automatic call recording option where app recording calls all by itself. Here is how this setting can be enabled:

• Click the customize icon in the top right
• Select the autosave option and you're done

Users should note that this call recording feature is not available for iPhone users. Often, restrictive iOS policies prohibit third-party apps from seeking access to use the phone's microphone. This made it difficult for Truecaller to integrate this feature on iPhones.

How do I record a phone call on my Android phone?

If you don't trust Truecaller and are looking for a third-party replacement to record your calls, your best bet is Google's Phone app. The call recording feature was only recently added to the Phone app and it works great. Here's how you can use it.

• Make sure the Phone app is working on your phone
• Open the app and click on the three-dot menu icon
• Select Settings and further tap Call Recording
• You will then be presented with options depending on the type of calls you want to record. Follow the instructions and when done, select Always save.
